For those of you who don't know me from the FTL board or the Gimme Liberty Bar, my name is Ryan. I'm 23, and live in Dallas.
After losing my job due to a previous non-compete agreement and after working with a potential employer for two weeks to get on board, only to finally be turned away due to a misdemeanor driving offense 6 years ago, I am totally broke. In addition, my rommate, with whom I alternated rent payments with, skipped town. My final day to find the cash to pay it is Monday, and without it I must be gone by Thursday.
I'm gay, and due to my Catholic upbringing, was disowned by family years ago.
In short, I'm totally screwed.
As I'm completely out of options here anyway, I can see no better time than to finally try to get to New Hampshire.
My offer is essentially both a business proposition and one of indentured servitude. If I can find someone to get me to New Hampshire, I will work for them for room and board, or any such arrangement as possible to repay any debts, plus interest, for my relocation and housing. I will gladly sign any contract to that effect.
I am very reliable and can provide references.
As far as employment, it doesn't really matter to me. I'm qualified and proficient in inside sales, print shop operation and management, non-profit management, and purchasing, but I'll settle for flipping burgers if that's what it takes.

I have enough for a bus, the problem is the lack of a destination.
Manchester has a pretty big concentration of freestaters, so it might be a good place to aim for. There are a few people here who sometimes have space to let someone crash for a few days until they find a permanent place. (I'm unfortunately not one of them, though. :-\)
What's your NH bound timetable? The only thing I can offer you is some sales commission work. Currently, I'm doing commissioned sales for a few asset protection services, and I also do wage work doing Internet marketing for a successful golf company (which also has some kind of commissions program but it's essentially retail [that's the vibe I get about it at least]).
Basically, here are the pros and cons:
Pros:
* If you are very good with marketing, the infrastructure is there. All you need to do is use it, and I can train you pretty quickly.
* The establishments I work with are legit, and I've test-driven everything already, reducing your potential risk.
* You can help other porcs move to NH and promote freedom- and get paid for it! At least one porc has moved to NH with my help, specifically through Keep Your Assets (http://www.keepyourassets.net?andrew).
* Everything I do currently is telecommute. If you want it, that work can be yours as well, and there's no reason you have to quit after you move if you like what you're doing. If you don't, you also have the benefit of quitting whenever you want ;).
* You can get paid in pretty much any form you want (emetals, paypal, money order, cash, etc.)
Cons:
* Unless you want to partner with me on the IT services/net marketing for other companies/people thing (which would be cool), the work will be commission. Commissions are 10-25%. If you're an experienced marketing/people person, this is very good. If you're just getting started, I would say that this might be a bit risky for someone in your tight situation. Again, if you want to "do everything I do", there's a bit of both wage and commission, so the only limiting factor is how fast you and I could grow the marketing empire as it were.
* I don't live in NH. I'm on the West Coast, so I can't offer you a place to live at the same time. On the other hand, location is irrelevant in the 'net and phone connected digital world nowadays. If you do find a "porc pad", you could always work out something with them and work with me to leverage the income even more.
* At times, this line of work can be quite challenging, but also very rewarding. Based on your resume, however, it seems like you thrive on that and regularly succeed!

Heyas, I've sort of been following the threads about your predicament. I don't know anything about you since I don't get over the the FTL boards or 2nd Life. Now I see that you are decided on taking the bus up here, no matter what.
Do you have any sort of support structure set up for when you get here? When the bus drops you off at some town, where are you going, etc? Do you have any plan once you are "home"?
I moved to NH a little over a year ago, somewhat in the same situation. I had all my stuff, and a destination but no job, etc. It was really hard making a new life. I would discourage you from coming to NH without some game-plan.
For example, I left a $16+hr job with kickass benefits in MN to work here for $11 and no benefits. Currently, I have a shitty 1-bedroom apartment in Concord, NH (the Capitol)
That being said, if you are in serious danger of being on the streets when you get here, contact me. The place isn't really set up for two people, but I'm not going to see a freestater freeze or starve for lack of planning. Winter will soon be here.

In Ryan's case he's in exactly the same boat whether he stays in Texas or rides the bus to NH: broke, nowhere to live, and no family to help. When you've got nobody and nothing, you might as well take your chance where you want to be, and where there are people of like mind.

I've considered all kinds of things, but it's basically really high risk for several reasons. Zoning may not allow many uses. There's not enough parking. The place needs work on it including a new roof at some point. If it were an amazing deal, I might do it because that would reduce the risk. As it is, I could end up stuck with a huge money pit.

Yeah, that was still on sell very recently. I found it on beangroup.com. Limit to commercial properties and you might find it quickly.

It's a $300k property. :o I assume you don't mean to be used exclusively for the food bank. I suppose if a porc bought it for commercial use or to lease it out, there may be space somewhere they could put aside for the food bank and get a tax deduction. It seems to have a lot of sq footage.
