most anything will do....gun slings, laptop bag straps, etc. just something i can put over my shoulders and nail to sandwich boards

I think we used bag straps from some sort of gym bag.
you may need to remind me, but i'm sure i can donate an old leather belt
...a 34" waist is now a distant memory, unlikely to ever return.
I'm pretty certain that I have some old bag straps you could have.
I have a lot of bags.

Seat belts would probably work pretty well, and would be smooth and comfortable to wear :)
