Title: I may be about to SHRUG
Post by: John on February 02, 2008, 09:11 PM NHFT
Almost exactly 4 years after moving to NH (Feb. 04) as part of the FSP, I am thinking about SHRUGGING.

If I decide to shrug, I think I will (at least for now) continue to make myself available to serve on a jury.

Tell me dear brother... what despairs you so?

The lack of men to stand with you?  There are not many real men in the world.

I know it is not your belief in our cause, liberty is nearer to no mans heart.

Is it that others shrink before the challenge and fear to stand with us?

We are abandoned by men who promised their fealty, all the time knowing that there are many who have words but few who have the manhood to act.

We have have been led to this place.

In all the world, this place gave birth to the name of that which is immobile, monodnock.

We are delivered here by our love of freedom and it is here that we, so little few, will stand against great forces.

And if we must stand here alone and accept the bayonets of our oppressors, may it be the shame of all who claim liberty and the glory of those who seek it.

No that's not it.  But it would be really hard to be happy about reading in the paper that only "80 %" of Free Staters supported Ron Paul.  But no, I've been around a while . . . I voted for Dr. Paul for president before.  ;)  He is doing far better this time. :)
No, it's not that; Even though this may be my last vote for ANY national office.

I'm not sure I'll air complaints/concerns here.
The problems within are plenty and should be obvious, and should already concern others.

Yes, our Monadnock did give name to all the others.
What use are names, to those who will not hear?
What point is relighting Liberty atop a hill,
When others keep their eyes shut?

Hard to keep a flame lit atop prodigious hills.
What is the point of carrying the flame,
If others will not pass it forward?

Can anyone carry Liberty, with zero respect
For property (intellectual or otherwise)?

The light needs to be guarded from our friends?

I have become a bit "deflated" with seeing the current outcome of Ron Pauls campaign.

I know some of you do not acknowledge the political system at all but I beleive Ron Paul could be the driving force to regain a certain amount of freedom.

What options do freedom seeking people have? fight, hide or comply

I'm just an outside observer, but I don't think any one expected the FSP to be revolutionizing things that fast. It's a long-term movement.

As an outside observer, I'd honestly like to know what you think the problem is. I've been following and supporting the FSP for a while now, but I haven't been keeping very close tabs on events in NH the past few months.

Well, we took over the legislature, dissolved it and the state police.  We auctioned off all of the government buildings.  Lauren and Russell won the big jail in Manchester and turned it into a Hydroponic operation............................

I knew I shouldn't have relied on Rupert Murdoch to keep me up-to-date on what's going on in NH!

There will always be a need for keepers of Liberty's flame.
Take heart John, your Liberty flame burns brighter than most.
People see your light... and they might show up here someday.

Don't call people you have to guard against your friend.

These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.

Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.

Action based upon careful, big picture strategy is infinitely better than inaction.

Inaction is infinitely better than action based on impulse.

Centuries of humans acting on impulse to attain freedom has lead us to where we are today.  Even the masses who embrace socialism, do so because they subconsciously desire freedom and prosperity.

Careful, rational thought leads to a single superior strategy:

The complete withdrawal from the hallmark of the obsolete violence-based paradigm -- the AMOG -- constitutes the noblest form of action possible: One that is based on careful conscious strategy.

You are on the right track, John.  Trust the pull of the rational paradigm! :)

Thanks but, truth is, I've been moving in the same direction for at least 30 years.
I just sometimes (on some issues) move more slowly than others.  ;D
As the 4th anniversary of my move approaches, I guess I am just admitting (to myself as well as more than to others) that there is "another line" which I am about to potentially going to cross.
Winter is a natural time for reflection and for getting ready for new beginnings.

Please don't count me in as "pure."  I am still planning to vote (at least) one more time.
I'm "feeling" like I punched my card on the way in; and I'm thinking one more punch seems quite appropriate on the way out.
