I have one or two gummed-up carbs on my V-twin Shadow. Ideally I'd like to find a mechanic (shade-tree variety is fine) with a bit more experience than I have who can help me out. Cleaning out carbs isn't really a tough job, but it would make me feel a lot more confident taking my bike apart if I had someone coaching me who knows what he's doing.
What's it worth to you? How about a couple beers, a couple ounces of silver, and the warm fuzzy feeling one gets when sharing knowledge leads to a resolved problem. That's about what I'm prepared to offer at any rate. If I don't find that, it's off to the local bike shop to spend FRN's instead.
Isn't Jack a mechanic-kinda guy?
sometimes you can clean out those carbs while running the engine and blasting some carb cleaner down the throats.
change gas filters and make sure tank is clean too.
vroom voom.
