I have no delusion that Thich Nhat Hahn is (somehow) perfect just because he was nominated by MLK for a Nobel Peace Prize. Nor do I think the Dalai Lama perfect. Heck, I'm not even perfect yet! ;D
Fact is (in my opinion) they both need to take a new look at what "ahimsa" must mean in today's context. Both of these men (I'm sure) consider themselves humble.
Are they "humble" enough to let go of (and encoarage their followers to let go of) forcing their will on others? Good ideas forced upon others at the point of Governmet (or any other) Guns are as bad as (or usually worse than) evil ideas coerced at the point of an individual's gun.
There are MANY, MANY people who NEED to consider what AHIMSA means in today's world...
Many of us need to rewind (every so often) and (re)start at real "NON-VIOLENCE.
