I was just thinking it would be cool if we had an ongoing counter in a prominent location that indicates how much tax money has been spent to keep innocent people in jail for victimless "offenses". Perhaps on the front page of Free Keene or NH Free Press?
Heh :D
good idea.
how much do those electronic bill boards cost in the areas you have them? You could have it updated everyday or week. That way a lot more people will know.
If someone gives me numbers, I will put it up.
Are you going to include the cost of the police officers to harrass and kidnap them, gas used to move them?

I think we should include anything that's sensible and believable. I don't want to go overboard to the point where it would be questioned. I think even the most obvious cost will produce some impressive numbers.

Meaning the police would be on duty already in some situations, so it isn't an "extra cost" to "society". However, they had 3 times as many LEOs in the court room than usual when Ian went, so who's to say if they booked some for overtime.

they do alot more than that ... they talk to the other guys, stare down their potential victims, eat donuts and coffee and calculate their 1st retirement date and pension.
