Or is the first thing you ask yourself when you see one of these articles, "How many of these 'uniforms' are on the Clock? How many on Overtime?

OAKLAND

Mourners from across the country packed Oracle Arena to the rafters Friday, as the city and nation said a heavy-hearted goodbye to four Oakland police officers fatally shot in the line of duty March 21.

The funeral service for Sgts. Mark Dunakin, 40, of Tracy, Erv Romans, 43, of Danville, Daniel Sakai, 35, of Castro Valley, and motorcycle Officer John Hege, 41, of Concord, was attended by the state's highest elected officials and at least 10,000 police officers, and came at the end of perhaps the saddest week in Oakland Police Department history.

I'm surprised criminals didn't take advantage of it and go on rampages during this time!

I fucking hate it when reporters use collectivist terms like "the nation mourns".
I don't fucking mourn anyone I've never met! Let alone some douche-bag cops.

The police are another section of government that are worshiped in the authoritarian society that is the U.S. of A., along with the military. As another example of that fact, down in Taxachusetts there is a talk show host with some libertarian leanings that I listen to in my commute, who had the brass balls to bring up the idea that maybe police who sit around and watch construction sites and the like shouldn't be making 40 dollars an hour.
He got deluged with hundreds of nasty and abusive e-mails just for that and for pointing out that the police union have the Mass politicians in their back pockets. Like that's a surprise.

wait who's that?  In MA?

you can't be talking about Howie Carr right?  If he's leaning libertarian then I'm an Ethiopian  ;D ;D

No, definitely not Carr. Michael Graham, on 96.9 WTKK. Again "libertarian leanings" he's not a libertarian.

I've not listened to him enough, I definitely don't care for his articles in the paper.  I regularly listen to Carr because I like when he does the anti-pot shows and forgets to mention (but mentions all other times) that he partook himself in smoking evil cannabis.

but it's not ok to smoke weed anymore.
