Title: Inspection Sticker Disobedence
Post by: djbridgeland on November 22, 2009, 03:37 PM NHFT
So I registered my car in NH back in April. Knowing that my car would not pass a NH inspection I decided to not get it inspected and wait until I was pulled over for it.  Well today I finally was pulled over and ticketed for not getting my car inspected after driving it uninspected for approximately 6 months.  I am not exactly sure what I am going to do about it yet, but know I am probably going to request a trial.

I procrastinated due to some complications that I was getting worked on and got a citation for late inspection. None of the limited options from their multiple choice on the back matched my thoughts, so I put "not guilty" and wrote in "under duress". There were threats in big bold lettering for non-compliance.

Check out Ivy's situation at NHCLOG.org

She's successfully beaten this in court, though they refuse to rule on it because it would set precedent.

I've got one (well, technically, Lindsay does) pending as well, and I'll be using her approach and arguments. That is, unless she wins her Supreme Court case first. :D
