Title: East Coast Braces for Superstorm
Post by: Raineyrocks on October 27, 2012, 02:01 PM NHFT
I hope everyone will be okay and that they are blowing this out of proportion.  I have a lot of family in Delmarva and Pennsylvania too and of course I'm worried.  Alex Jones was talking about weather modification stuff on his show the other day and bought up the possibility that this could be a "planned event" to delay or call off the election.

Last night, Hurricane Sandy was downgraded to a tropical storm, but since then it's been reinvigorated and now poses a serious threat to the eastern seaboard.

Here are some of the latest news items concerning the "Frankenstorm" that's predicted to wreak devastation upon millions:

Oh well, Rick is saying everything will be fine  ::) so I guess I have nothing to worry about.  Lil' Ricky hasn't even picked up his basketball or anything from the yard.  ::)

John David is looking forward to the adventure and is disappointed that it hasn't started storming yet.

This is what happens when you raise a free-range kid who looks at life as a learning opportunity.  ;D

You should be safe, there high on your mountain top in the Central Highlands.

From the PSNH outage map at 9:30 p.m. Eastern, Grafton has 388 customers. 388 of them are without power.

And, as soon as I made my last post, Mary called to say the power had just gone out. One of the lucky 58 customers in Lancaster, out of over 2000.

They're prepped with lanterns and flashlights and have wood heat if they need it. They can take a propane bottle from the camper and hook up a stove for cooking and hot water if they need to.

We lost power for about a half an hour. Back up, just been periods of rain and wind swirling by. Looks like it will be a most of the week endurance test, rather than a dramatic moment.

Here in southern tropical Grafton the power has been off since 6:30 PM last night.
Operating on batteries for now.

Just went out for a look around the neighborhood.
Just a half-mile down the road I saw this tree hanging from the electric wire.
I suspect it will take a while to restore power if the rest of the town looks like this.

Power at the Lancaster house was back on at 0630. No damage noted. Only about an inch of rain total. Son-in-law was there to move the trailer out of the path of the big dead tree next to the driveway, but it remained standing.

It's easily mistaken for barge traffic.

Yup, it wasn't that bad though. :)  It's higher than usual but last year it flooded pretty bad, this year I saw a couple trees had fallen in to it and your right it's roaring but that's it.  We didn't even lose power, just a few flickers.  ;D
