Title: Pair of 1983 Honda Nighthawk 550's
Post by: MaineShark on October 26, 2006, 02:09 PM NHFT
1983 Honda Nighthawk 550.  Extremely low mileage (less than 2k).  Basically, the original owner dropped it, doing a little bit of damage, then put it in his barn.  I found it and fixed it up.  Needs some cosmetics, but includes a nearly-complete parts bike.  The parts bike is in good enough condition that it could probably be fixed-up, if you wanted to.

Price $1175/obo

Trades considered.

That is the price for both.  I've never attempted to start the parts bike.  It likely needs the carbs cleaned, if one wanted to make it run.  The one that was in the barn all those years only needed a single fuel line, an oil change, and a new battery to have it purring like a kitten; Hondas are definitely good at that!

I don't think I have any photos available, since things got kind of disheveled in the move.

Shaft drive, six speed, four cylinder, 572cc displacement (don't ask me why they call it a 550).

The '83 Nighthawk 550's were an experiment.  Honda took the Nighthawk sportbike, and put cruiser trim on it.
