You can save 20% or so on ink costs by printing in economy mode. This isn't a good idea if you do a lot of professional quality printing, but for run of the mill stuff, especially text only documents, economy mode is well worth it and will make your cartridge last longer. Also consider having your cartridges refilled. This can also save a ton of cash.
I use a similar mode on my printer, but go even a step further. In most Microsoft operating systems
you can highlight text via the mouse and then "COPY" the text using Ctrl-C and then go to a text editor like Notepad and paste it there to rid unnecessary clutter, from there I print in economy mode
minus all the graphics, ads, etc. Works well for text only info.
You can also disable the printing of images in most browsers and document editors as well.
