Home Brew bottling and brewing
Sunday April 27, 2008
Noon
Jim & Lauren's Barn, Winchester, NH
We will start bottling Goat Scroat the Jackson Editon, a pale ale.
We will also be brewing our first batch of ginger beer soda ;D
The beverages won't be done, but you can help us bottle and brew, and taste unfizzy beer and unfizzy soda on this day.
Ginger beer soda will be ready to serve Wednesday April 30.
Beer will be ready to serve May 11, Mothers Day.
I love ginger beer soda! What would be an appropriate contribution to help fund this effort?

Neat. :) Make sure you save a commemorative bottle for the little fella. :)
Do you guys brew with extract or all-grain?
New label idea:
"Happy Hampshire Hog Snout Stout"

In honor of the new Edgeington family member you could call it
"Edge Ale" "Get drunk on the Edge!"
It's too early to think of anything good.
Make sure you write down the recipe this time! ;D

I believe Ginger Beer Soda is popular among Jamaicans. I'll look for some next time I go into Hartford(CT). The neighborhood I left is called Jamaicaville ;D

Sent you a PM Lauren, but I don't see it in my outbox... I'm interested in making an appearance with my wife, if you'll have us. :)
I still have that computer chair if you want it Lauren.
I'll bring it down today.
I guess I should keep my river-of-boogers to myself and stay home today.

Definetly not. The hospitality ya'll provide is very excellent.
Thanks again for lunch as well.
It was great meeting you guys. Thanks Lauren and Jim for your hospitality! I think Ivan made a great impression on my wife. :)
Ivan is one amazing sack of fur.
Thats Krouse booze Icon, Pronounced as in house, or more to my liking,
Kro-use, as in 'cruise'. ;)
I have been working every sunday, and have not been able to attend any of the meet n' greets. :(
I am glad those that attended made Kevin and his other half welcome. Sorry I couldn'd say hello myself.
Hoo Doggies!
The Ginger Beer is giiiiiiigery and fiiiiiiizzy!
It lulls you into a false sense of safety with a sweet start, then the carbonation and ginger kicks you simultaneously like too much horseradish, then finishes with an earthy taste.
It's not super sweet, I may have to change that.
It's got a milky translucence, maybe filtering would make it clear.
But unlike the home brew beer, there is no yeasty dregs at the bottom of the bottle.
This may make a descriptive label:(http://uruknet.info/uruknet-images/nuclear-explosion.gif)
Anyone want to try some?

But that's the best part!
Yes, yes I do.
Ginger Nuke Ale!
:D
I want to try Lauren's Nuclear Nectar... :D
Zesty ginger spiced, and naturally carbonated, not that weak ginger ale stuff. :icon_pirat: :D
Sounds fun :D
Bring your sushi. :P
I love ginger beer! Can't wait to try yours. Also the Jackson ale.

The ginger beer was great! :D
Darn, I missed this!
I tried some commercial ginger beer and birch beer in Jamaica and couldn't stand the stuff. Now, if your ginger beer is anything like Vernor's I'd be a happy camper. It's expensive to run to Michigan every time I get the craving.
Vernors is Michigan specific? I thought the areas around here just didn't sell enough to stock it. I see Faygo around here now and then... :(
My sister found 2-liter bottles in Northern VA but that was a while ago.
Vernor's Ginger Soda (http://store.drsoda.com/vergin.html)
A Case Of 24-11.5oz Cans Of Vernor's Ginger Soda.
You're calling it ginger soda, is that the same as verners ginger ale? nonalcoholic of course. Ohio has it. Not bad, though I don't have it too often. Thought I have seen it in Keene area, have to check though.
I wonder what would happen, if ya mixed the
Ginger soda, with the home brew Beer?
Better not try it might rip a hole in the time space continuum.

Yep, that's it. And they want $28.95 for UPS Ground. Total of $48.10 for 24 cans.
I used to get Vernor's in Florida a couple of years ago. It certainly is not isolated to Michigan.
Can some one email me J.J.'s email addy, pls?
the ginger soda is the best .... I don't even like ginger ale ... this stuff is great

Ginger ale is weak. Ginger beer is much stronger.
