9-6:30 I would like to meet the bus sometime. Does anyone have any idea what the bus is doing, other than touring around Keene?
(Adding agenda. Kat)
11:00 tour of Keene Main Street
12:15 Keene Buffet Lunch
After Lunch, Winchester: fashion show and chain gang
I know it's going through Winchester and hitting Porc Manor. Lauren is organizing a fashion show for the benefit of the tourists; I'm sure she'd appreciate it if you'd participate. :icon_farao:
Ooh, David has a collection of protest T-shirts. Yeah!
The bus will hit Keene first and eat lunch about noon, then come out to Winchester, then to Jaffrey for ice cream.
Local folks are welcome to come out to Winchester and help us entertain the porcfesters.
We may have a lumberjack competition, home brew tasting, drywall installing training, a walk along the river.
Suggestions anyone?
Fashion show? (where's the incredulous smiley? :) ) I'm trying to imagine Lauren in high heels and gown. OK, now trying to imagine Jim in high heels and gown. No, not coming up with anything either way.

I think she's thinking more along the lines of NEW HAMPSHIRE fashions. For example, how to layer three pairs of long underwear. The latest in lumberjack fashion and whether to wear your collar up or down with a chainsaw. You know...
Whats a collar?

Whats a collar?
It's the part of your flannel shirt that helps keep your neck warm. When you move here, you'll understand these things.
Lauren has a Mortitia outfit that she looks really great in... tight black dress and high heels.

Of you mean the other part ya cut off after you
remove the sleeves. ;D
We will be there for the Winchester portion.
What is the right restaurant for the bus tour? We were talking about that with Dawn.
Sorry to be trite... but the Keene Buffet takes bus loads... it's local, there always seems to be enough seating, it's fast and good... $10.00 covers the meal and tip with a bottomless drink.
Maybe let them know your coming.
it would handle the gang ... and would be different than the food they get at the campground
Yay! Russell and Kat are coming! Hey, want to model some of the New Hampshire fashions from your wardrobe? We still need a winter wear display.

A reoccurring character in Pats nightmares
gotta show those flatlanders how we Shire folks live
Me...I'll show off winter clothes. I can wear them when it's 80 degrees out. I'd turn on the heat now but everyone else in the house would cry. :crybaby2: (or maybe that's sweat)

I have heard about your legendary hot weather ways. I think they cry and sweat, usually at the same time.
You know Radical Teen will be an adult, not when she turns 18, but when she goes out and buys an air conditioner, and declares that she will pay the increase in the electric bill by herself. ;) All without permission.
I second the keene buffet suggestion.
Perhaps I could give a demonstration on lawn mowing in the shire! ;)
boy howdy

That has certainly become a Shire legend, now. :D
Or maybe you could model the what-happens-when-you-stand-too-close-to-the-fire bathrobe. :)

I'm on the bus!
Julia doesn't like buffets, so I haven't been to Keene Buffet in a while. That is a fine idea!
Isn't it up to Bill?
I think so. I emailed them yesterday and haven't heard what the official word is on the lunch location or time. I'm guessing it will be Ceildh House, Panera, or Keene Buffet.

Hey! Last time I was there it was roofing installing training! Take a good look people! Take a GOOD look. . ., this is how the slave labor work cames start! :) I'm coming in with the bus tour if my camera gear will fit, and I'll be in Keene through Thursday afternoon.
Anyone up for a social gathering Tuesday night or Wednesday? I have the ride along with Shane sometime Wed. Night, so I won't be drinking much, though I rarely drink anyway. I would love to spend some time hanging out with the Keeneiacs!

Excellent! Now we have Roger in his chain sawing outfit,
The President in his historic Robin Hood outfit
I can get Jim to wear his construction gear and tool belt.
Kat modeling winter wear.
We still need an announcer and some strutting music.
This will be so great.
I have to go to the West Coast on business and will miss it. >:(
See some of you at Gunstock on the weekend. :occasion14:

;D you guys are great.
Sounds like the agenda will be:
11:00 tour of Keene Main Street
12:15 Keene Buffet Lunch
After Lunch, Winchester: fashion show and chain gang
then escape to Jaffrey for Ice Cream ... after all the visitors "get their minds right"
Jim oversees the work crew... ;D

Cool! I guess I can announce, let me just practice.... Smashing! Uttaly smashing! That is just smashing!
Thanks to Russell's idea we are setting up an old fashioned 2-person saw to slice a log. We are making a brand to mark each slice with a porcupine logo. People can make their own souvenirs for free!
But of course Becky Thatcher will be the hit of the day if she models her lawn mowing style.
oohh la la

If'n any revinours shows up Tuesday, they's gon'a be marryed off to our old maids. :mf_farmer:

Cool idea for the handmade Shire souvenirs. 8)
The root cellar would make a good saw pit. Is the saw set for ripping?
It's set on cross cut. :)

pic of the porc brand.
cool
Do they come with your very own mountain man? :D
Boss Johnson brands any laborers that try to escape the work camp. :o
Nice Job!!
I see Jim going for the ZZ Top Beard look.
Mountain Man sold separately. Some assembly required.
William will be unable to participate in the fashion show. He still has a fever.
So no lawn mowing demo and no Robin Hood. Chainsaw Man will be there.
So is the chainsaw demo anything like the lawnmowing demo? Should we bring the camera for the calendar?

Man what a gyp, the beauty and brains stay home and all we get is Roger.
In the movie, the Bus will be waylaid by rogue Federal Agents that are tired of, in the words of the hijack leader, "The general nonchalance towards the Government." The Bus riders are replaced by a specially trained Team of agents, who leave the Bus passengers stranded by the side of the road and continue towards downtown Keene.
The Bus arrives in Keene to meet Ian and Mark. Ian and Mark are wary as the tour guides are a fat guy named Dawn and a military formal women named Bill.

OK, don't wear the Robin Hood leather gerkin with the chainsaw chaps, they clash.
I'll be here for this event. But would love to go to S. Keene porc manor. (a tad far to ride on bicycle, maybe someday, but not today) As always, happy to pay for ride, I'll be at the buffet. :)
I think we can take you down David .... let me check with the boss. :)
Kira says we can give David a ride :)

Thanks.
mucho fun today
Russell, thanks for taking the pictures. I loved them. Wish the pres and I could have been there.
These two were my favourites.

The FSP bus is getting bigger. They had a full size bus of porcfesters today. I enjoyed meeting a bunch of new people. The libertarian candidate for governor ,Sue, made an appearance. The tour guide team of Bill and Dawn were charming and helpful, as usual.
The fashion show was smashing. Construction wear, winter wear, summer wear and porcfest T shirts were modeled, but the only model to get tips was Tom Sawyer showing logger chaps with iridescent undies. Special thanks to all the fashion show models! You were smashing, uttaly smashing.
People also had fun slicing and branding some logs with the porcupine iron.
I had a great time.

must be repeated at Burning Porcupine.
;D
Lauren did a great job emceeing the fashion show.
The woodburning porupine brand was very popular.
Thanks to Lauren and Jim for hosting a fun event.
More images captured by Russell with my camera. :)
The porcupine brand was cool... well, it was really very hot. :D
