Title: Unlicensed Lawyer
Post by: mackler on June 20, 2008, 01:05 PM NHFT
Commonly, one needs a license to practice law.  However, New Hampshire statute RSA 311:1 (http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/rsa/html/XXX/311/311-1.htm) recognizes not only the right to represent oneself--that is pro se--but also the right to be represented "by any citizen of good character."

Anyone have a case they want handled by an unlicensed lawyer?

I assumed you could do it in any state, it just made your case "look bad" because those not in the cartel are considered "incompetent." BTW, what's your ETA on NH? I haven't been in the NW in a month now and someone else needs to become the LG Coordinator up there.

I live in Manchester now, so I'm afraid I won't be able to fill that position.
