There are some things I suck at, but writing successful news releases isn't one of them. As some of you know, I worked in TV news for about 15 years later generated a lot of sympathetic coverage for the freedom movement with various PR work and publicity stunts. PR is more than just news releases obviously; sometimes those are not the best means of achieving it and mainstream media is not always the place to send them. I use a lot of different options for spreading a message.
But here are links to some of the more effective releases I've written:
Mike Fisher's civil disobedience in Concord, NH

This one triggered coverage in the Union Leader, Fosters, the Monitor, Channel 9 and more other outlets than I can remember. The main talk station in Keene even read it on the air raw.
Here's Channel 9's package on the event:
Free State Project - Outlaw Manicurist
Another release..."Free State Project picks New Hampshire:"

I wrote only the first half of this one, but it generated nationwide coverage.
See http://freestateproject.org/news/media_archive (http://freestateproject.org/news/media_archive) and scroll down to October 1, 2003 ... to see some of the reports.
Lastly, here's an article I wrote about how to get good media coverage:
