Prize for the best couch made from snow! Just build your snow couch, take a photo and send to me. There's not enough snow at the moment, so let's give it a while so people have time to enter. How about a deadline of Feb 14th :newheart: to enter? Winner will get a stuffed toy porcupine (it's not large), and their couch photo in the paper. :)
You don't need to be in Keene or even NH to enter :D
;D 8)
I'm SO entering this. I'm going to make a whole yard full of couches (couchi)
I want that stuffed porcupine. . . I will raise it above my head in victory
good luck to my competitors. C'mon SNOWWWW

you know, I've actually heard you say it snows less here for some reason. I'm not really sure what you're smoking, but may I partake?
It does snow here, and we get ocean effect snow as well. Sometimes my friends in Haverhill/Methuen area tell me they get much less. The problem with living in the seacoast area is the DRIFTS. . .the wind just blows it around and around until it's piled up 6 feet in one area and 1 foot in another.
I'll get snow, oh yes, yes I will get snow. Maybe I'll make a base of one out of sand and then cover it with snow so I can sit on it and take pictures. You all have no idea how serious I am.
I thought we were going to bring couches and sled them down a hill.

Sounds like a perfect excuse to build a snow-couch in front of the courthouse. They get snow there, too, ya' know. :) Or maybe just in the middle of the circle, facing the courthouse.

Anyone building a couch snofa in all this snow?
My guess is, it has been so cold that the snow is crumbly.
I tried this weekend but indeed the snow wouldn't hold together. I'll try again soon.
Wouldn't hold?
Yup. Duh. Corrected. :)
I have a big pile I'm watering down so it's icy and thus won't fall apart as easy. then I can chip away at it.
I think Varrin has a better idea:

Oh. I guess I'll cancel the competition. :(
I think the addition of a couch at the Snowzilla gig might satisfy the situation. :)
Kat's thread is a good one. 8)
Sorry, didn't intend that as an insult to this idea. It's a fine one and I hope someone does it!
Ian must be afraid they'll blame him for the snow couches.
This one isn't even in Keene.

It doesn't matter Lauren. We all know Ian is the ringleader of a violent cult attempting to lead an international rebellion through the method of growing unknown beasts in couches of tenant yards. So whether a couch is in Keene or not is irrelevant >:D

William and I made a snofa at the Animal Farm the day after Polstice (this sentence sounds like it's a secret code!). Here (http://www.barskey.net/Mike_Barskey/Images/Pages/Snofa%21.html) are pics. Someone needs to photoshop a pirate hook where Jim's missing hand is. :ahoy:
Damn, those are some good-looking snofas. It's going to be a tough competition. Here are some suggestions to make your snofa stand out:
-- add a beer can holder
-- add a hot chick wrapped in leopardskin/bearskin sprawled on the snofa
-- add a hot chick wrapped in leoparskin/bearskin, sprawled on the snofa, holding a can of beer
Waste no time arguing what a better snofa would be, build one.
Animal Farm has some advantages that Sandy can't compete with .... acres of snow ... unless she visited and built one :)

My 6-year-old niece is participating in something called "Flat Stanley", which seems to involve something about mailing a photo of yourself to far off places and having friends/relatives photograph the "flat" version of you in those exotic locations, as if you're there. I told her I'll photograph "Flat Erin" on a snofa and she is extremely excited. :)

As a snofa artist, pronounced snow-fart-est.... I am pleased and happy to have been recognized as an achiever in an area of achievement.

winning is nice but competing with such good people is what its all about . I really enjoyed building it with my family and explaining why we were building it.they are young, 5,6,10 and impessionable and think their uncle firecracker joe is a little eccentric and cool. I enjoy telling them about liberty and when you mix it up with snofas and other fun stuff it makes learning much more enjoyable, and we love the snow
so the snofa was a great idea and i will be happy losing to such good and fun people as jim, lauren william, mike and all freestaters especially if im not losing money. Next winter is not far along and were not afraid to try again. maybe next year a few more will be in NH to compete. Firecracker Joe
