Since there are so many people visiting NH who want to hook up with people who have already moved because of the free state project, I was thinking that we should try to have picnics in Grafton at the Porcupine Recreation Area every Saturday.
So I will be posting here and
http://forum.freestateproject.org/index.php?topic=17392.0
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=66833941238
each time we are planning a potluck lunch here at the Hoyt Farm in Grafton.
April 4th is our first picnic.
April 11th is at Mt. Sunapee
April 18th is Lazy Day at the farm
April 25th is the softball game
April 25th is also Gandhi Movie Night
May 16th picnic
Kira's Birthday
Burning Porcupine July 1-7
Picnic July 12
Picnic August 1st at noon (great weather, waterfall, bonfire and moon gazing)
next
Picnic August 29th for volleyball and bonfire in first field 10pm-10pm
Very cool
we will not be able to host a picnic this week ... I will post it on the calendar when we can
I guess it will be rainy this Saturday ... so we will be eating indoors and commenting on how wet everything looks.
wish i could be there. soon. have a great time. Tomhawk :-\
it will be good to see some of the new movers as the head in
no rain here yet :)
awesome small gathering
We had the venerable grand mistress of the NH libertarians, Lois Gardner, stop by for lunch with her driver John. Locals Zim, Tony and Lloyd visited. The fun bunch (Barskey, Ryan&Kellie, and William&Amy) finished off the afternoon.
on the 11th we are taking our BBQ/Picnic on the road to Mt. Sunapee.
Bring your fixins and we will grill them up at the bottom of the slope while we cheer on Jim and Lauren's entry.

You left out "royal bodyguard" and "loyal manservant," but who's to quibble. LOL!
this week we will be at Mt. Sunapee, but I am thinking we should soon host a softball or volleyball game where the Grafton Welcome Wagon takes on the visitors.
So which game would be best? The Keeniacs have proposed a softball game.
Softball one week. Volleyball another time.
Preview of cardboard sled event: Jim in his pirate outfit.
LOL :D
That is a cartoonishly large hat!
Nice work there J&L.
Jim is a big dude. He can handle that hat. ;)

I need to put up a net, so maybe our first one should be softball. I don't have a bat yet and I was going to get one of those huge softballs that you can catch without a mit. :)
Willy Wonka is going to be jealous.
That was fun today.
Next week is official Lazy Day at the Hoyt Farm. We invite you to bring your picnic lunch and eat it with us here.
Woo Hoo! Lazy! Sounds exciting!

Well, if you're being lazy, you're supposed to take a load off, no?

GOT GAS? Sorry guys! It would really be great but the trip is just not in the budget until we can get to work and get some money rolling in. Unfortunately voluntaryism just don't quite pay the bills.
I drove around today with my girlfriend after dropping her brother off at Plymouth. . . ended up at the Grafton General Store. They actually have more than I thought they would. What a beautiful area, we stopped and took pictures of moo moo cows

I hope next time I do so on a Saturday and I could stop in to say hello! What was cute in the general store was the t-shirt
"what happens in Grafton, stays in Grafton, but nothing happens in Grafton"
Everyone run! R101 is going to start robbing people, maybe kidnapping people for ransom or eating people for dinner or something horrible!
Took me a second
Wait... are those cattle with feces matted in their hair? There is no visible food there. There are no shelters. The fences are in poor repair. There's a junk pile in the background.
Quick, someone CALL STEVE SPROWL!!!
Oh, wait... cows aren't horses. Nevermind. Livestock activists, stand down, go park your trailers until the next alert message.
I noticed that too, no don't call Steve because the people who were tending to their farm on Easter afternoon were more than welcoming to me, the fat guy standing on the street snapping pics of their fatty moo moo cows. They were yelling at the cows to turn around so I could get a good picture.
I love NH. I love moo moo cows.
Don't get caught!

when I think of nh or grafton I don't think of cows ... I think the people outnumber the cows unlike some states
If they do, it is only recently. NH was famous for having more cows than people.

aha cows
http://usda.mannlib.cornell.edu/usda/current/Catt/Catt-01-30-2009.txt
NH has only 39,000 head of cattle
WY has twice as many cows as people ... ks and ne are off the charts
CT has more cows that NH
same with maine, Mass, and of coarse VT ... we only have more than RI
Well I certainly hope NH government is addressing the cow shortage. >:D

AND, we have PIZZA from CHICAGO!!!
we invite people to come as early as 10 and go until 6 this afternoon. Maybe we can be outside for a little while early.
We couldn't wait and ate one of the pizzas last night ... three to go.
Well, I'm trying to get the little family moving along. We probably won't be there till closer to 1:00, but I am looking forward to seeing everyone. Even though it's for a sad occasion. :'(
See you soon!!!
We had a great time. It was fun seeing everyone, hanging out, eating good food. Wow, even PatK made the trip!!! And there was no bacon!!! :D
We like Grafton Welcome Wagon Saturdays!
I'm glad you all made it home safe, and I had a wonderful time talking with you Miss Becky! Thank you for the wee gifties, they will grace my immediate presence wherever that turns out to be, a wondrous reminder of you precious three. The chocolate cake was just delicious, your mac and cheese I'll truly miss. We'll stay in touch...
that was fun ... but I think I ate too much food
I had a good time every minute I was awake.
;D
It was a good time, played some frisbee, good food, good beer, good company, good beer... :) the prognosticator told people's fortunes :D Liar's dice... bid farewell... (dang it)

Always good to visit the NH folk.
We will have an out post in Hawaii .
PatK posting under Lloyds account.
Gandhi Movie Night after the softball game this Saturday. Movie will start about 5:00. There will be a break in the middle since it's a 3 hour movie.
Movie in the living room, chatting in the kitchen/dining rooms :)

Once (only once) someone (a neighbor) stopped by while we were not here. We had (quite briefly) gone to the dump. We were back very soon and then talked to our neighbor via phone . . .
Please stop by whenever you're in town.
Hi John,

When ya didn't show in Keene last night
night, me and Jim were a little worried.

I just took note of it.

Maybe I was kidnapped by a beautiful woman who was teaching me to make nice music.
Anyway, i plan to be back Home in Grafton on Wednesday . . . I plan to have another car by Wednesday afternoon.
Thanks for your concerns.

About which time will softball commence on Saturday? As part of the opening ceremony will there be a special guest singing the national anthem or will we all just kind of hum along together? >:D

On The Road To Freedom." ;D I'm willing to sing at the opening game.
BTW, I picked up some "bases" (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) - (we already have a Home plate) - from the Salvation Army store. ;)
I, very much, hope to be Home in Grafton before noon.
Man that was a beating... and the way those Keeniacs cried, like little girls, kind of embarrassing. :D
I feel sorry for them. I mean, I like the Keeniacs, but they really sucked at softball today! And whine whine whine - man I thought they'd never stop complaining about the heat, the long distance to run between the bases, the water wasn't cool enough, blah blah wah wah.

Hmmm. I should have done a google search before throwing out a phrase. How about "insolvent pachyderms" (brought to you by Googlewhack (http://www.googlewhack.com/), so this one should be tougher!)?

the evil part is that you will never get into that plastic package
the grafton welcome wagon will not be rolling out the red carpet for the Shaheen workers

Oh, wait... that's a morally bankrupt Republican. Is that the same as an insolvent pachyderm?

Happy birthday to me. :)
Happy belated Barskey!
Thanks!
To be clear, though, Kat gave me the gift just to be nice; it had nothing to do with any birthday. And I called it my "birthday" not to celebrate the day I was born, but to celebrate the day I was re-born: I had been in New Hampshire for one year as of August 21. :)
I thought you were re-hatched
