Maybe take some fliers to hand out to the Keene locals explaining why you're doing what you're doing. I wonder how many even know about the $5000 for the feasibility study?
Maybe try getting in touch with group members that lobbied for the money and see if they're willing to help out too, if they have the stones. Seems to me like this whole project could be done with donations and not theft.
