Title: Porc411 about cops at Liberty Compound
Post by: dalebert on May 04, 2009, 08:57 PM NHFT
This is a follow up to the Porc 411 left by Nick a few minutes ago. A cop came to our door. We didn't answer the door. It was obvious there were several people in here. There was a light on and no blinds. He started flashing a flashlight into the house. There was another cop waiting at the back door. After about five minutes, they gave up and left.

It's odd. Our only idea of what it might be about is that a Keene Animal Control person showed up and knocked on our door a few days ago. We ignored him also until he left, baffled. We were 99.9% sure he was here about our landlady's dogs. Apparently our landlady used to live on our side of the duplex so he was probably looking for her. The cop was probably following up on that.

But... we don't know. We didn't try to talk to him. I suggested that if we talk to him, it would only be to say get off the property or we'll file criminal charges of trespassing.

OK, while I've been typing this, we got an update. Apparently they were looking for someone to serve an arrest warrant and they determined that no one inside was the person they were looking for. So for now, it appears there is not much cause for drama. Sorry to disappoint.

You know they can't resist baked goods.

Is that kinda like the Alamo?

maybe Santa Anna won't attack them this time.

I think it's time for a chip-in to get the liberty compound some shades or blinds

Police were cleared of all charges of wrongdoing when it was determined that gunfire was intended for the purpose of putting holes in the centers, as mandated by city code in its legal definition of "doughnut" . . .

They want to serve an arrest warrant possibly to someone who lives there and that's no cause for drama?

If you call the cops and ask who an arrest warrant is for at such-and-such an address, will they tell you? I doubt it. How about if you call and say, "I'm Joe Shmoe, is there an arrest warrant out for me?"

It's more a laziness/apathy thing than a money thing.

To Mike: We have an idea who it might be, though nobody has called and asked specifically. The weirdest part of it was that one cop went around to our back door while another was at the front.

Yes, the little I've heard about this incident make it seem to me to be quite a serious and dangerous thing.

You're of course correct, Mike. I should have said the drama appears to be concluded; not that there never was cause for any.

Recent news indicates this may be far from over. They are looking for someone, or something, and aren't giving up after one night.

I've called the KPD and left a message with the captain in charge of the situation...

edit: I wonder why a captain is in charge of it, given there are only 2.

No need to get worked up before your initial question is answered. Those numbers and names are the badge numbers and names of the officers/dispatchers that were on scene/in contact.

As far as the warrant, I just barely got confirmation on who it is for, and won't publish that. He doesn't live here anymore though, so they shouldn't be raiding our house.
