describing how our jailed activists might leverage all that spare time they have. But they may need help from outside.
In summary: We could give them the tools and info they need to write lots of letters-to-the-editor. LTE's are an area where we are weak.
My understanding from six days at Cheshire is that we would need to
1) buy selected inmates subscriptions to newspapers (or send them summaries of articles they might want to respond to)
2) Make sure they have all the info they need to submit the letter ( i.e. the newspaper's LTE rules)
2) make sure they have money in their commissary accounts to buy stamps and envelopes and pens. Envelopes/stamps sent to them will be confiscated.
3) Have someone on the outside they could send the letters to, someone who is willing to re-envelope them and send them out with the inmates actual home address on them.
The other idea is more or less podcasting from jail like Marc Emery. That would require an NH landline they can call collect, plus someone to record and broadcast the call.
Blogging from jail is already covered to some extent.

Another thought: Maybe jailed activists could file audio reports or commentary by phone. Ideally they would need a land line number they can call collect inside New Hampshire, someone on the other end to record, and someone to air their report.
How do *you* think we could best help our jailed activists make the most of their time? Is there anything *you* can do to make it happen?

I think this is a cool idea. A way to give selected prisoners something that they can feel like they're doing something worthy of their time, even if it is in prison.
I can't imagine some of the hopeless feelings some might have in there. This could be a way to give them something to look forward to.

Great idea. I volunteer next time i'm in jail. Put me to work. I'm a slow worker, but I may be more motivated when I tire of the boredom. :)

Really! I have spent way too many hours on that site. Now it is a pay site and I thought I would quit, but I think I am too addicted.
