Title: food stockpile
Post by: cathleeninnh on August 29, 2011, 08:34 AM NHFT
Once a quarter, I rotate one bag of groceries out of my stockpile to be used before expiration. I replace it with things that I have bought on sale over the last few weeks.  It still feels like a free trip to the grocery store.

I emailed this to a few folks earlier in the Summer. Had I thought of it then, I would have posted it here:

I use grapes in chicken salad, but don't want a lot of them around due to the carbs. I learned that you can freeze grapes. I bought a bag, washed them, dried them froze them in a couple of loads on a baking sheet. After a short time in the freezer, you can transfer them into a ziplock bag. They don't freeze solid and you can eat  them right out of the freezer. I'm thinking that they will be great in hot weather.
