Post by: porcupine kate on August 16, 2012, 08:49 PM NHFT
Does anyone have any good pressure canning recipes.  I have started canning this summer and I am looking for yummy meals in a jar.

There are lots of books that have recipes.  It all depends on what you like.  I used to can all the time, but I don't think we've canned in like 2 years :(  Why in the world did starting a family make me go from prepper that easily survived a 7 days power outage to unprepared for a 2 day power outage?  *sigh*  I blame it on Becky....  if I canned 12 quarts of something she gives 6 away without asking.

I watched my Mom can when I was young.
There was a lot of boiling water, salt, sugar and more boiling..
I think it's a Minnesota thing to over cook everything and not add spices.

Get ready for background checks for mason jars, and having to register that assault pressure cooker.
