Yesterday, nearly two years after I got pulled over and cited for 'operating without a valid license', the case of The State of New Hampshire vs. R.A. Angell is over. A hand-written letter testifying to ten hours of community service (all of it voluntary on my part), was all the judge needed to waive the fine (and late fee for failure (refusal) to pay).
Apparently the judge wasn't very interested in locking me up, as I told him last week that, as a matter of principle, I'm not paying, so lock me up.
The final formality was proper documentation that the court clerk kindly faxed to the Concord DMV to ensure that they won't suspend my driver's license, or anything.
Then I drove back home.
Glad things worked out for you Rich.
