My family unit and I are looking for larger properties and want to build a home. We are also looking at smaller properties with houses.
I need someone who can talk to me about specifics including #s and designs.
We are in Carroll county (the least populated by fsper's in NH apparently).
Is there someone here that can build houses? Can other members of this forum vouch for you?
There is a high chance this project fails, however if someone can sit down with me to discuss ideas etc you will be compensated for your time.
Thank you.
:icon_pirat:
If you're in Keene fsome time, Tom Sawyer and I could talk to you about that stuff.
Here is a link one of the early projects Stooges Construction took on... the building of Mark Edge's house.

Here's the the thread for the building of Jim and Lauren's PorcManor.
Building Fun at Jim-n-Lauren's (http://nhunderground.com/forum/index.php?topic=5288.msg93213#msg93213)
Wow thanks for the links. I read thru most of the pages about the construction of Lauren and Jim's place.
I saw the photos of Marks' place which incidentally is close to what we are looking for.
I need to know if this weekend would work out for you Jim and Tom Sawyer?
Also I am partial to meet in a place that serves alcohol and food.
It will be more than a 2 hour drive so I will be thirsty.
Do you have a recommendation in or near Keene that meets those needs and does this weekend work?
Sometimes I wish I lived a little more south, but it is so quiet up here in Madison.
Thanks.
'Mi Jalisco' for good Mexican food.
'Chili's' for a more open atmosphere.
'LongHorn Steakhouse'
I'm available this weekend... both of us could meet you next weekend, the 30th.
8)
I never thought I'd get to meet a character from the Simpsons. I mean your not one of the A listers but gee Jimbo Jones it will be an honor!

Yeah I try, but not very well.
How about next weekend, Saturday?
Mexican food will work.
Sometime in the afternoon will work for us. What time do you all suggest?
Lauren and I can be there anytime on Saturday.
What time is good for you, Tom?
5 pm would work well for William and I.
Ok so that is 5pm at 463 West Street, Keene?
Any seconds?
edit: date = Saturday April 30
Pantagruelion == hope that I have found the right people.

Nice pic.
I just want to make sure I got the address correct and that 5pm 4/30 will work for everyone involved.

Yes, that is the place and we will be there. Good food, look forward to meeting you.
sounds good
Will you be there Saturday, Russell?
that is a good question
depending on where our loads are going, I might be able to head that way bobtailing
I will try to help out any way I can.
Just to confirm we will be there with some sketches.
So how many people will that be?
I also invited dada orwell.
I just want to know so when the hostess asks us how many people I can give a reasonable answer.
6?
ps stoked that Lauren is coming even though I don't know her.
William and I, Jim and Lauren... that is the folks coming from our side. :)
I will be attending this fine shindig.

We made it home. Good to meet you all. Thank you.
Glad you folk, got home safe. It was nice meeting you thanks again.
and here I am left out in the cold (I mean heat)
Jim and Tom Sawyer,
we are getting a house.
can you guys install a railing on the deck and stairs?
like this weekend? or early next week?
it has to be up to *code before closing.
*code = arbitrary requirements made by magical unicorns with rainbows and skittles etc.
You have Michelle's #, you can pm me and i will give you my # or you can call her #.
I attached 2 pics of the aforementioned deck.
Congrats on finding a place.
I am also working to meet an arbitrary, gooberment imposed deadline... in addition to financial deadlines.
I'm not available right now.
what town is this in that it has some sort of railing code?
Carol County has codes for such things?
You'll need to talk to your building inspector to find out what his arbitrary standards are.
who told you you needed work done? is this for financing?
*cough* Grafton
This is for financing. Appraiser / mortgage company.
I wanted to let you guys have first shot on this opportunity.
How about you Jim?
ps we are in Madison, Carroll County, NH, US, the world.
You might try Glen Aldrich 527-8726.

That's outside my area.
Average and adequate. Perhaps?
I try to maintain my own standards.
Thanks for the help Tom, Jim and Glen.
We are moving in on Wed.
And as it turns out the seller of the place is coming back to town to do the rails himself.

aha ... that is good
The Stooges had another adventure in the Free State helping folks construct some of their dreams.
Enjoyed our time spent with Mark and Michelle.
how many stooges now?
....with Mark and Michelle we had four. :ahoy:

I offered to hit Jim in the back of the head with a long board but settled for breaking his truck instead!
it's gotta be something
Mark sent some pictures of our work at their place.
New entree steps. Concrete walks. French doors.
This shot taken towards the end of the job.

Turned out pretty good.

I always feel so left out when you guys speak in "code". Why would a dog work? Where's the incentive?
Oh, nice porch btw.

Us hep cats got some dank lingo!
I was going to say some stupid thing about there house being powered by the dog run. ;D
Dog runs are pollution free NRG.
...it's like Pepsi Free, where it's still mostly Pepsi.

Hello world.
It took a long time but this project is complete.
Moving to NH is tougher than I thought it would be.
Thanks to Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn our house became 90% operational.
We are impressed with the work and craftsmanship.
Sorry the truck went out on the way home, I bet that really sucked!
The clothes line, dog run, deck, gift-bench, handrails, cement pads, patio & more secure doors are major improvements.
We had to get french doors because we are so close to Montreal apparently.
I would recommend closing the thread but there haven't been enough one liners yet.
and there will always be another repair next summer or the summer after that.

Sorry, Stooges policy is we can't build past 90%
A- is the best grade we can get.
I might have to come there and be your salesman .... nope sorry ma'am we can't take any project past 80 maybe 90% ... just too much pressure.
wait a minute .... Tom Sawyer is the salesman. I can come in with my adding machine and green visor and say we aren't allowed to go past 90%
Jim stands there with a tool saying "can we start now?"
PatK needs to come in as our competition "Money Pit" movie style.

Exactly as the scene should be performed in the musical... of course we would all be singing our parts.

That was the Roger Corman approach. I always thought it would be cool to be the king of the B movies.
"Three Stooges Construction --
Tom Sawyer, Jiminator, and the fool who hired them"
There needs to be a movie poster.
that's a good one
