Title: Porc builders - In need of
Post by: Mark D. Jacobsen on April 19, 2016, 12:58 AM NHFT
My family unit and I are looking for larger properties and want to build a home. We are also looking at smaller properties with houses.

I need someone who can talk to me about specifics including #s and designs.

We are in Carroll county (the least populated by fsper's in NH apparently).

Is there someone here that can build houses? Can other members of this forum vouch for you?

There is a high chance this project fails, however if someone can sit down with me to discuss ideas etc you will be compensated for your time.

Thank you.

Wow thanks for the links. I read thru most of the pages about the construction of Lauren and Jim's place.
I saw the photos of Marks' place which incidentally is close to what we are looking for.
I need to know if this weekend would work out for you Jim and Tom Sawyer?
Also I am partial to meet in a place that serves alcohol and food.
It will be more than a 2 hour drive so I will be thirsty.
Do you have a recommendation in or near Keene that meets those needs and does this weekend work?
Sometimes I wish I lived a little more south, but it is so quiet up here in Madison.
Thanks.

'Mi Jalisco' for good Mexican food.
'Chili's' for a more open atmosphere.
'LongHorn Steakhouse'

I'm available this weekend... both of us could meet you next weekend, the 30th.

Jim and Tom Sawyer,
we are getting a house.
can you guys install a railing on the deck and stairs?
like this weekend? or early next week?
it has to be up to *code before closing.

*code = arbitrary requirements made by magical unicorns with rainbows and skittles etc.
You have Michelle's #, you can pm me and i will give you my # or you can call her #.

I attached 2 pics of the aforementioned deck.

Congrats on finding a place.

I am also working to meet an arbitrary, gooberment imposed deadline... in addition to financial deadlines.

I'm not available right now.

what town is this in that it has some sort of railing code?
Title: Re: Porc builders - In need of
Post by: Jim Johnson on June 24, 2016, 07:21 AM NHFT
Carol County has codes for such things?

You'll need to talk to your building inspector to find out what his arbitrary standards are.

Hello world.
It took a long time but this project is complete.
Moving to NH is tougher than I thought it would be.
Thanks to Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn our house became 90% operational.
We are impressed with the work and craftsmanship.
Sorry the truck went out on the way home, I bet that really sucked!
The clothes line, dog run, deck, gift-bench, handrails, cement pads, patio & more secure doors are major improvements.

We had to get french doors because we are so close to Montreal apparently.

I would recommend closing the thread but there haven't been enough one liners yet.

I might have to come there and be your salesman .... nope sorry ma'am we can't take any project past 80 maybe 90% ... just too much pressure.
wait a minute .... Tom Sawyer is the salesman. I can come in with my adding machine and green visor and say we aren't allowed to go past 90%
Jim stands there with a tool saying "can we start now?"
PatK needs to come in as our competition "Money Pit" movie style.
