Tax protest in Keene, April 15th, starting at 11:00 on central square, Main St. Then at 12:00 we'll move down to the Postal Orifice / Internal Revenue Stealing building @ Main and Winchester. Not meant to prempt April 17th protesting, which is the actual day people are forced to pay this year.
sign idea (for any who don't pay):
paste on one of the torture pictures from iraq, with this text below
Hell Nay
We Won't Pay
NHfree.com
We're planning on being in Keene on the 15th.
How about black hoods and signs that say "Don't pay for this"?
Jim and Lauren
That sounds good.
You can also add something about how by paying your are voting with your dollars in support of the war. Many people understand this concept when it comes to shopping at different stores but few connect the dot and associate it with paying taxes. Something to think about I guess...

Vote NO with your dollars

I thought people have to pay taxes on the 18th in NH. When did it change to the 17th?

Yep, and any states where individuals file through the Andover, MA, office. This is because of the state holiday - Patriot Day.
Does anyone have that list which was being passed around the internet listing all (or many) of the different kinds of taxes.
Don't know if I can make it...
Fighting a bad headcold. :(
I'm not going to make it either. I definately want to get up there for the 22nd.
I'm going to make the coffin this week.
Any ideas about size?
Caleb suggested something large for 4 people to carry.
If I make the thing in proportion to the size of the document, it will not be visable behind two of you or either Pat or myself.
We have to store it too. I'm already storing a 16 foot FSP sign and a 9 foot joint!

a 9 foot joint!
Heck Lloyd bring it up... I'll help ya smoke that thing. ;D
Yard long, foot and half wide?
Looks like the rain is done so our signs will not be destroyed. :)

We'd have to invite Tommy Chong. ;)
(Gee... I hope yer referring to the doobage) ;D
Today's Tax Protest was fun. William enjoyed helping burn the 1040's.
Nice to see everyone including the "a_candid_world" video crew.
I was pleasantly surprised by all the positive response we got ie. honking and thumbs up etc. And I was dumbfounded by the guy that said "Torture is good". :P
Yea .... the weather was good and we got some reaction and had some good conversations.
Wow out of the mouths of babes...
This evening William said 'War is bad and you know why? Because little kids and people get killed, and the government takes money from people to pay for war. If we don't give them money maybe there wouldn't be war.'
Man, he sure picks up things along the way.

Pedro: Man, what is in this shit, man?
Man Stoner: Mostly Maui Waui man, but it's got some Labrador in it.
Pedro: What's Labrador?
Man Stoner: It's dog shit.
Pedro: What?
Man Stoner: Yeah, my dog ate my stash, man.
Pedro: Yeah?
Man Stoner: I had it on the table and the little motherfucker ate it, man. Then I had to follow him around with a little baggie for three days, man, before I got it back. Really blew the dog's mind, ya know?
Pedro: You mean we're smokin' dog shit, man?
Man Stoner: Gets ya high, don't it?
[Song, "Rockin' Robin" plays... ]
Man Stoner: I think it's even better than before, you know?
Pedro: Uhhh, I wonder what Great Dane tastes like, man.
:puke:

Wow! Is that why he was so pensive yesterday afternoon?

Those proportions sound a little off(wide).
I was lying in bed this morning, thinking about the coffin (what would Russell's psychiatrist do with that?) when it occurred to me that we might be going about this too fast.
Perhaps we should just put the constitution on 'life support'. You know, a Gurney, Oxygen Mask, maybe a Battery Charger?
I'm making the Coffin.
Should I leave it a plain pine coffin, ala a Clint Eastwood western, or, stain and varnish?
I was picturing painted black with Constitution painted on it.

Good idea!
Jim suggested that we do the constitutional life support event next Sat at the Real ID hoop-la.
Then more publisizing of the death and announcing the funeral for the following Sat.
We can make some mock defibrillators, and maybe a gurney.
Anyone want to be a constitutional medic?
Oh, good idea! The constitution can be on its last legs next weekend.
Hospital scrubs would do for attendants. I can't find a place that rents gurneys. Making a stretcher might not be hard. Hmmm....working on it.....

Check military surplus stores.
Kevin
Stretcher....two broom handles and some canvas.
I heard there was a picture of Jim and Lauren at the protest in the Sentinel.
