Ugh. Joseph Lyons letter to the editor is practically screaming out for a response. Perhaps I'll work on that tonight.
Cool :)
A guy in Alstead called today...one of the things he complained about was me not editing his letter. It was the one that called us Kooks. ;D

Don't look at me. I spelled it right! ;D
Sheesh, I'm hopeless. I don't think they've actually started printing it yet.
Wow nice issue! ;D 8)
really is starting to look nice!
i wish the articles were more local however, or more state oriented, as opposed to national. the LTE's beat the articles in this respect.
i think i am in a comfortable position to level this suggestion, since i have done my part and submitted a local article :)
Dave, how about you start a newspaper with all local articles?
Most of the people I meet in Keene want to talk about national level stuff.

It's easiest to vent about far-removed people and issues that you don't have much chance of changing.
Getting up close and personal and getting your hands dirty... that's too uncomfortable for most people. They'd rather bitch about the president.
I tried very hard to tie my national-news article into local-news happenings. :)

Your first article could be = Is it just me or do the Monadnock area women seem extra Pissy this holiday season ?
Didn't you order your buddies extra pissy, hold the fists?

Let me check my recite and get back to ya on that.
No need. There's a no-return policy. You're stuck now.

And anyway, I didn't feel terribly pissy when I said that. I thought I was just offering unsolicited, unwanted advice to Dada about how he should spend his time. It was only very mildly pissy.
I'm thinking about starting a rival publication called the Keane Free Press, focusing on local issues in Keane. Anybody want to help? ;D
Sounds great. :D
I think you should do that.
I may never spell the name of y'all's town correctly again. :P

Great thanks -- I always enjoy it.
I just want to say that that Keene Free Press badge really gets comments. Nice ones, too. I had one other reporter (whose name I lost; he was from out of state anyway) tell me that he reads the KFP and enjoys it. And those who have never read the KFP think I'm just another journalist and say things to me that perhaps they otherwise wouldn't. :)
Funny :)
Oh yeah, I met a couple of students from Franklin Pierce College who say they're big fans of the Keene Free Press and want to ensure that KFP continues to arrive there. :)
Yeah, we met those guys when they brought Jack Cole to the college to talk.
I gotta say, I was in the Monadnock region this summer, picked up a copy in the Sullivan General Store, and a lot of the articles and grammar issues, weird typos, etc. Now when I read it everything is coherent, well-put, and convincing. Great job, guys!
we sometimes purposely print letters to the editor with typos left in.
