Who is the "president"?
Could it be fisher?
Could be the new, improved Fisher. Well, could be Fisher, anyway.
Nope. It is not fisher.
It's fisher.
the fisher-king
I, too, knew it was really Fisher, he says something about it on the other forum. Now we have one president and 96 Anarchists.
"As useless as a president in a room of anarchists." That could be a whole new saying.
Hey, I kinda like that fisher now. We have much in common.
I don't remember electing him.....sounds more like a king or something
But, Who is Number 1?

I think your wife appointed him.
Who is Number One?
I haven't seen any Number One
When the snow goes away, it is harder to see.
Actually, I was refering to a TV series from 1968 and hoping that one of the other old farts would pick up on it.
I am not a number! I am a free man!
OK Lloyd, you got me on that one. It was from Get Smart, and #1 was the girl, but I can't remember her name.
Oh no, it was WAY more esoteric than Get Smart.? You are number 12.

That will be enough out of you, Number Six, remember, the Big Balloon is watching your every move!

Wrong show, and, I'm pretty sure Barbara Feldon was did not have that low a number.
I remember, now, that BF was Agent 99.
Is the show The Man From U.N.C.L.E. ?

Just a baby in Diapers. Little Kat. Goo-goo, ga-ga.
One is the lonliest number that you'll ever know,
Two can be as bad as one.
I was -3 in 1968, but I still managed to catch the show on PBS.
Doctor Who?
I loved that show.

Me too. It is the only series I can think of that was on PBS back then. Is it Dr. Who?
Ya, that was it.
No, not it was not Dr. Who. A&E does sell a DVD version of the enitre series, and it's available at Costco for a price far below anywhere else.
I meant the show. Not that Dr. Who was number one.

Even the Simpsons did an homage to the Big Balloon.

The series was run on one of the regular networks in 1968. ?It was run on PBS 10 years ago or so and, I think, one of the TV Land sort of networks.
The series was 'The Prisoner', a spin off of 'Secret Agent' with Patrick McGoohan. ? McGoohan plays John Drake, An effective Agent for, I guess, MI5. ?He quits, hands in his resignation. ?There is a great scene in the beginning of him going home in a nice Lotus Roadster. ?He gets home, starts packing a suitcase and subcumbs to gas pumped thru his Mail slot.
He wakes up in the Village, where he is assigned a number, 6 and gets to spend a lot of time with Number 2, who is replaced from time to time, for various reasons, including, because 6 drives him nuts. #6 keeps demanding to know the identity of Number 1.
The Village appears to be an island and every time #6 tries to escape, a Big Balloon pops up out of the water and either makes him return, or, drops the dime on him.
The final episode is confusing and, if I remember correctly, imples that number 1 is a monkey, but, I might be wrong about that. ?JohnM?
What a payoff ::) .....you gotta work on some more material >:D
The only redeeming value to this thread will be if I start calling Kat "99"
But Kat is Number one, Number Five.
Lloyd is #0 for bringing this whole thing up.
Actually, if you had payed close attention in the final episode, you would have learned that Shorty was #1. ;D
Here is one for you:
What was Napoleon Solo's partner's name? What show?
What # is Shorty?

Man from U.N.C.L.E.
Illya Kuryakin, or Urea Nutcrackin
As I liked to call him.
The actor (David MCallum) who played him is a Medical Examiner on N.C.I.S.
I guess he was waiting for another acronym to come to television.
Lloyd, on the TV show Topper, what was the Dog's name?

Neil
I was crazy about the woman who was part of the couple who died and moved in on Leo carrol, although I was very young at the time.
Holy crap Topper now thats an oldie.
I of course am not old enough to have saw the origanls but used to watch the show in rerun on Sunday mornings.
Two more for you:
1) What was in the keg around Neil's neck?
2) (a real tuffy) What did the G. stand for in Maynard G. Krebbs?
Not to go back to the subject of this thread or anything, but a big smile goes out to the president today.

1.I want to say Martini's as, I'm pretty sure that's what the Kerby's drank, but, it had to be brandy.
2. Walter
(sorry Kat)
Hey Lloyd, you're good. Excellent answers. Now back to thread.

You could have some hilarious conversations with Seth, I'd imagine.
but can Fisher fake that biting critical tone that bookish_lass had? ;)
Piss off Russell.
(Just kidding, BTW)
Oooohh, what she said.
Oooooooh, what she meant!!!!!! :o
I think we will do better under fisher than the FSP has been doing under its current bosses !

Excepting that he would probably move us to another state!
We should have monthly online elections here for president....just for the fun of it.
::)
I hearby nominate Russell to be Court Jester and Supreme Consort.
I haven't left the FSP. But yes, that was what I'm planning on doing.
In reference to that thread, there's no way I'd consider running for the board again, as Seth apparently thinks this is about. I don't see the situation as the FSP vs the underground. I'm just going to be trying to draw people to NH by making things happen here. I had some very nice letters re: the update I wrote on what's happening in NH, people rejuvenated about the idea of the FSP from reading about accomplishments (real or perceived :) ), so I'd like to continue that. I'm not getting anywhere arguing with people in the FSP. It's funny that it was Dada who helped me decide that, and now he's trying to change things there. /shrug

I would never allow that. My main job is making sure I remain president. There will be no elections.
After this thread (http://forum.freestateproject.org/index.php?topic=9637.from1112017697;topicseen#msg127287), I suggest the underground splinters from the FSP, stops promoting the FSP, and instead focuses only on liberty in NH. Let the FSP worry about 20,000 participants, and let the underground worry about making freedom happen.
More details to come.
I have no objection to fisher being proclaimed president for life, provided that the president has no duties or powers. ;D

I miss Shorty. :-\
