Hit Tools > Add-ons. Then click Get Extensions in the lower corner. About a million of them will come up. Find the search box and type in Adblock Plus. Then hit the big Install button.

Uh error...I installed ABP and the damn ads are still showing up. I chose the suggested USA subscription and didn't browse all the other choices. Do I have to do something manually? Maybe I should just shut up and enjoy the colorful ads. Those Sublingual B-12 pills are very colorful...

I block the ads and it's still slow to load. There's other things going on with the forum making it occasionally slow, as well. :(

Hey, the ads are gone! I guess Ad Block Plus worked after all (and guess I needed to reboot my computer to make it work).

I don't know how these things work, but on another board that I belong to if I pay $5 a month I get no ads and some other benefits. Sure would be nice to have an option besides leave.

I sent a donation yesterday via paypal and Kat said that $25 covers a month of expenses for the web site (I'm sure not the countless hours she puts in though) so if all of our active board members sent like $25 bucks a year Kat would probably have enough money to run the web site and have a little compensation for her time -- then she may be able to remove the ads.

Haven't noticed any. But I get one for an Irish pub in Trinity Hall (Dallas) almost every time I'm here. Yesterday I had one for a financial service place in Greenville.
FYI: it's not a "sniff" of your IP. Your IP is an integral part of any web request you make, which includes requests to ad-servers.
What I find interesting is how accurate the ads can be with regards to location.

It varies wildly. I get ads from Houston (300 miles) and D/FW (200 miles).
I have gotten many nh ads. The only out of area area ones I get are for vacations. :)
