Title: Printing on Newpaper paper
Post by: lordmetroid on April 24, 2007, 11:54 AM NHFT
I was wondering considering the keene free press which is somewhat a different news paper from what I can understand of the online edition where anyone can publish. Is the published paper-version  printed on Newspaper paper? If so, how do one normally go about and do so? Get an own printing press?

Most publishing, particularly small scale, is outsourced.  Most printers, even other papers are desperate to make a buck off some of their unused printers.  Of course as long as you do not compete in their news market.  In the states a lot of advertising is also printed on newsprint.

We pay someone else to print it.  It costs me $400/issue to have it printed and shipped - that's for 5000 copies, 8 pages, black ink.

Wow, that's cheaper than I'd expected. Maybe I'll start a newspaper!
