Newbie here wondering what the e-mail below means. I have received several of these since joining the site earlier this week.

   Just wanted to let you know you were just left a 0:02 long message (number 1) in mailbox 16034130411 from B A---y , on Thursday, August 09, 2007 at 07:13:21 PM so you might want to check it when you get a chance.  Thanks!

You must have also signed up for porc 411 service.  It's a voice mail system that emails the messages to everyone who signed up.  If you are afraid you are about to be robbed or kidnapped (usually by the police) you can get a message out to a large group of people almost immediately.

Yep, that's exactly what it is. The message itself is an attachment to the e-mail you received. Unfortunately, due to a spike in interest in the system, some people have been calling it just to see what it does, and then hanging up after it starts recording.
