If someone poured something into my gas tank and I didn't know who it was, I would tell the cops. If I knew who it was and they were willing to work with me to resolve the matter I wouldn't call the cops.

That's how I think I'd handle it too.  It's weird I haven't heard anything from their insurance company, the courts, nothing so I don't know what to do.  The father of the girl that this was done to said he had no out of pocket expense so if I call him and ask him how much money "she" owes him he's going to say nothing.
I was going to call the public defender or lawyer of the day like Spencer suggested but my husband said wait and see what we get in the mail.
