U.S. proposes allowing fish farming up to 200 miles off coasts

The Bush administration, seeking to tap into one of the world's fastest-growing food industries, wants to allow fish farming up to 200 miles off the nation's coasts.

Citing pilot projects off New Hampshire, Hawaii and Puerto Rico, the administration said Tuesday it was sending a bill to Congress to establish regulations for fish farming, known as aquaculture.

Isn't that wonderful. Uncle George wants to allow us to farm fish in the 2,476,040 sq miles of ocean off our shores. (200 miles * 12,380 mile coastline)

I wonder who the beggars were who got him to allow this?!?!?!?

Gloria just had a great comment about this. We should write a thank you note to Uncle George for wanting to allow us to fish farm up to 200 miles of our coast.

I think we should send a thank you note to any politician who wants to allow us to do something.

Cheers!

I tried that, but, the bell on the lead fish wouldn't ring under water and I couldn't get the rest of the fish to come in at night.

Shorty used to send Stumpy Xmas Cards. He'd always slip a picture of a snake inside, just for fun.  ;)

Uncle George is the king fish.  He'll probably give out some his free money to help get this started to.
He knows what is best for us, and he just wants us to be safe and happy.
I'm starting to refer to him as King George.
