Some previous owner remodeled the house I am buying and did away with one entrance but left the stairs to that spot. My roommate named it the ghost entrance. The bathroom and laundry are on the other side and I'm sure she hopes it doesn't live up to its name, lol...

You could put some planters with some nice flowers or herb garden (for regular cooking) on them.

The other herb garden would bring property stealing thugs that would throw you in jail. >:

Thanks for the ideas.  My uncle just said take a large hammer to them and toss the rubble out.
The personalized sign sounds like a good idea.
