We have well over a 1000 members, most are lurkers.  You will see this phenomenon anytime something big happens.  I think it is great.  It is a gauge on the interest level and concern for the wellbeing for others.  It usually happens when a well known person gets arrested.  Right now the Browns are overshadowing Lauren Canario.  Which is amazing, because she is probably the most widely know lady person on this board due to her eminent domain battles.
