There are still are lots of voluntary socialist communities ranging from "intentional communities" to "cooperative housing" in the U.S.  So they do exist and you can do a search to see about them and decide for yourself if they work.

I only wish that most government socialism minded folks spent some time in a voluntary socialism experiment.  I suspect that Hillary Clinton, Charlie Schumer, et. al. would get tired of living with the freegans very quickly. As difficult and problematic as voluntary socialism is; I am very much all for it.  It teaches people a relatively easy lesson.

QuoteIf socialism is so wonderful, why not set up some voluntary systems and see how popular they are?

As Mericer says, there were lots of utopian socialist experimental communities in the 1800s US. They all failed. "Socialist" countries never allowed voluntary socialist communities.

Now there are lots of utopian capitalist communities in the ex-socialist countries, and many of them are working  ;D

"Squatters believe that real human needs are more important than abstract notions of private property, and that those who hold deed to buildings but won't allow people to live in them, even in places where housing is vitally needed, don't deserve to own those buildings."

I love it, abstract notions they say. Haha! What a bunch of crack heads.

I think it's funny that the food that's the worst for you - fast food - are the ones that lock their dumpsters up at night. As if......

Compact high caloric intake is what would be necessary in underfed individuals. The use of low caloric foods would present an inordinate amount of time be spent on food gathering.
