INSIDE THESE PAGES are the stories of 40 people who are making a difference in New Hampshire.

For the seventh year in a row, the New Hampshire Union Leader honors 40 up-and-coming people, all under the age of 40, who are making a difference in our state.

In the years since the New Hampshire Union Leader began the program in 2002, many notable state residents from the areas of sports, law, politics, education, media, medicine and other fi elds have been named to the annual list, announced in January and followed up by a reception later in the year. This year, the reception, sponsored by the Business and Industry Association of New Hampshire with the support of Ocean National Bank, will be held March 13.

As the list of honorees grows, so do the accomplishments of the original members. That fi rst class included senior assistant attorney general Kelly Ayotte, Manchester alderman Frank Guinta, Congressman John E. Sununu and assistant U.S. attorney Joseph N. LaPlante. Six years later, they are now, respectively, the state's attorney general, Manchester's mayor, U.S. senator, and fi rst assistant U.S. attorney

#29:  Keith Murphy, Proprietor, Murphy's Taproom.

Conrats, Keith!  Free Staters are making friends, making money, and making waves!

Not bad at all considering the publicity from the events a couple months ago.   :)  Personal congrats to Keith.
