What happens when a bunch of tax bureaucrats get together to brainstorm ways to squeeze people a little harder, specifically the people who they think don't pay the taxes they owe?

Among other things, you get backdoor legislation requiring Visa, MasterCard, Amazon and eBay to report your transactions to the government.

Bottom line: The IRS is going to start cracking down even more, and more laws like the above will get proposed.
