A forwarded message from the [wtr-s] war tax resistance email group:

Hi all,

I'm writing to ask for your help with a documentary I'm making, currently in post-production, about war tax resistance. (The film is called Death and Taxes, and a trailer can be seen here: http://panleft.net/cms/wtr-trailer2) I have been filming for about 5 years on this subject and have about 50 hours of footage but ironically that's still not enough - I need more "action" material that is relevant to the topic - demonstrations, press conferences, protests, street theater, tax day rallies, even stuff like relevant signs or banners being held up (or t-shirts being worn, etc) at more general anti-war events.   Almost anything other than people just talking!

Have you (or someone you know) shot anything like this over the years anywhere in your coverage of activist events in your community?   If
so, please get in touch by writing me at ste-@detritus.net Please forward this as you see fit.

Thanks so much,

steev

We've got to have some footage from protests about the Browns, Russell getting arrested for handing out flyers, etc.

Dave Ridley

i have some vid of myself at the post office on tax day and putting a peace tax return in the mail reminding the IRS that I won't pay.  but there's not much visual stuff to tape.

it's important to keep the tax resistance thing somewhat distinct from tax protesting (what the browns did)
Resistance is where you commit civil disobedience
Tax Protesting is where you deny there's a law

i'm a tax resister since they use the money to torture people etc, but I'm not a tax protester because I'm not making any claims regarding the meaning of the law.

of course if someone wants to stop paying i don't really care why, I'm happy people do it for either reason because it starves the monster some.    but if his focus is on war tax resistance then I'm sure it's not on the browns.
