And then we wonder why so many businesses go over seas - even a child selling lemonade is a threat.

Things have changed a lot.  When I was young, my two sisters set up a lemonade stand and made the front page of the local newspaper.  They had pictures of them using their wiles to entice customers to buy some lemonade.  They were probably around 6 years old at the time.

Sad that now the system even views children as a threat (like bringing a butter knife to school).  I don't think people were afraid of a butterknife back then either.

This is Salem, Mass?? My old stompimg grounds? At the common?
I just heard about this . . .

I know some of the "players" in "city" government there . . . I figure the mayor is more close to us than others . . . there is a mayorial race happening now . . . most of those folk think that government has ALL of the answers, So I'm not sure what use it would be . . .

Anyone want to take a stand on the Salem (Ma) Common?

Burn the (unruley) children!
They Must be witches - if they think independently.

This sort of crap stiffles entrepreneurship. These kids will never dream up another business idea without wondering what law they were breaking.
When I was a kid, many people in my neighborhood took the bus.  My friend and early mentor Buzzy Gianotto came up with the idea to sell Kool aid at the bus stop on the end of our street.  We would set up about 3pm and shut down by 5 or so and really clean up!  I'm sure some neighbors questioned our sanitary conditions and passed, but, Hell, we were like 8 & 10!
My parents, always bought anything any kid was selling who knocked on our door. I always buy lemonade or Koolaid from kids selling it while I'm making my tag sale runs on weekends, although, I don't always drink it!
