Any thread I can't read immediately piques my curiosity to the point of near-obsession.  What was the basic gist of it?

And anything that generates that kind of a reaction demonstrates a potential that should really be tapped into!

Basically hitting us with so much web traffic we can't handle it.  It can happen accidentally if you get posted on slash dot or something like that.

It seemed to be a denial of service attack.  I deleted the thread they were all accessing, the "Hate to say I told you so" thread.

In the future, instead of deleting a thread, split off a couple posts in order to create a new thread. Then merge all the other posts into that new thread. Voilà, new URL.

You could also temporarily mark the thread unviewable by non–logged-in users, I believe.
