Yesterday the high in Anchorage, Alaska was 45 degrees.  Last night it went all the way down to 36.
they are on the ocean not in the middle of the land

I have about 5 solar blankets in the glove compartment, what other recommendations are there for the winter as far as for emergencies in the car?
I keep a cold weather sleeping bag in my car; I figure that would be a lot warmer than the solar blankets.

Yeah, that's true they would be better.  I'm just worried about putting sleeping bags in the van because Rick has an irritating habit of going into my minivan and bringing stuff I bought out there back in the house or to the dumps.  ::)   At least I can hide the solar blankets in my console where he wouldn't dare go into.  :)

Who knows, maybe the solar blankets could reflect light off of the snow or something and attract someone's attention if the sun wasn't out?  What do you think?

I'm screwed, huh? :-\

You know what would really suck if the solar blankets did reflect light from the snow and it blinded another driver and they crashed into the minivan.  :-\    Or just crashed.  :-\

ROFL!  And I thought *I* was a pessimist!

Solar blankets do work.  Having spent a night alone, lost in the wilderness, wearing shorts, I can attest to the fact that the human baked potato strategy does work.  Still think a sleeping bag would be better, though.  Why in the world would Rick take your sleeping bag out of the van if you told him why you were putting it there?

I think he's becoming extra forgetful or he's finally learned how to ignore what I say.  :P   Or he want's to cash in on that life insurance policy!  :o
