    Lunar Eclipses indicate meaningful changes for all of us. They are powerful markers of events with influence that can appear up to three months in advance and last up to six months afterward. So, you may ask:  What is a Lunar Eclipse?   Every month the Moon travels in her orbit completely around the Earth. A Lunar Eclipse can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned with the Earth in the middle, when the Moon is on the far side of the Earth from the Sun: when there is a Full Moon. Unlike a Solar Eclipse, a Lunar Eclipse can be observed from nearly an entire hemisphere and, unlike Solar Eclipses, are completely safe to watch.  A Lunar Eclipse can be observed with nothing more than the naked eye. Locations where the eclipse is visible are more strongly influenced by it.  A pair of binoculars will magnify the view making the red coloration of this event brighter and easier to see.
     This month's eclipse is a annular lunar eclipse that will take place on February 9 and is the first of four Lunar Eclipses in 2009.   This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will occur as the Moon passes through the constellation of  Leo at 20º60'.  At exactly 2:30pm the Sun will be moving opposite the Moon in Leo through the constellation of  Aquarius at 20º60'.  The Earth will be at exactly the same degree in Aquarius blocking the light of the Sun to the Moon as it falls in direct alignment at 20º60' with the Sun and Moon. Generally, Earthlings tend to be more emotionally expressive during a Full Moon and this Full Moon is no exception.  This eclipse in Leo brings egos down to size. Normally, a Lunar Eclipse emphasizes emotional reactions.  Psychic sensitivity, spiritual instincts and emotional connectedness are aroused by a Lunar Eclipse as the environment becomes a little unstable. This unstable environment occurs because there is change in the electromagnetic energy that affects us mentally and neurologically. There will be some stress as blockages will begin to crumble and then there will be a feeling of freedom. The good news is that creative and artistic qualities will be discovered as you let go of beliefs that don't correspond with your current reality. Outdated ideals or dreams may need to be discarded which can be painful but necessary.  You experience an  awakening to today's truths as the clutter is cleared away and the present is seen in a new light. You redefine your personality and your image.  Outwardly, a new hairdo and new clothes may result!!
    This Full Moon is joined by nebulous Neptune which governs water and all things spiritual and dreamy. Floods, fraud and all things fake make their way into the headlines. All Full Moons bring matters to fulfillment. Eclipses always mean crises. But, crisis is not necessarily a bad thing. Organizations may be touched by scandal as what has been hidden comes to light.  Personally, a phase of your life ends and a new one begins. Whatever part of your life is not in sync with your true life's purpose will show the most change and this can be seen by where this eclipse falls in your personal chart.  But, remember, this is all good and part of your pattern of growth as you are forced to finally drum up the courage make necessary life corrections!!  Enjoy the process!!  :-)
