Never could happen in America.  In Amerika that is a different story.

It has already happened. Last I remembered the FDA put some restrictions on juices and other herbal medicines a few months ago. I don't know if it passed, or was just something the FDA did without a law but I remember hearing about it.

I see what your saying, but to me the article is a more opt comparison to the FDA regulating juices, and herbal medicines. Your point (and his if that was what he was referring to) is apt as well.

One good thing the FDA has done is moved stevia from a "diet supplement" to a "sugar substitute." Coke and Pepsi are now ramping up some diet drinks using stevia extract brands Truvia and Purevia. The FDA had banned it in 1991 as a food additive even though it had been used as a sweetener in South America for hundreds of years.
