Wow, talk about a serious lack of judgement.  He should have made sure that he was shot and that it was an occupant of the vehicle who shot at him before opening fire.  I have been in a situation where a bullet passed close to my head, but of course I didn't assume that it came from the nearest vehicle.  Even if he was shot, to fire at someone without knowing who shot at him is extremely irresponsible.  When I was deployed while in the Army, I remember being instructed not to return fire unless we could identify where the fire was coming from and were confident that we could hit the attacker without hitting any innocent bystanders.  I would rather risk getting shot than shoot an innocent bystander.  I don't think I could live with myself if I seriously injured or killed someone who wasn't trying to hurt or kill me or someone else.

The only thing that surprises me is how much complete and utter BS the general population is willing to take.

People wonder why I hate cops. The reason is this. Even though the cops were dead wrong, if the passenger had fired back as he should have, they would have executed him shortly afterwards.
