Cracked fingers solution

I've had cracked fingers this winter almost continually. I found something that has worked for me and I want to share it. I washed my hands really well then rubbed a fresh cut piece of ginger all over paying attention to hit all of the cuticle and finger tip areas. Over night my hands look 100% better. Cuts are almost gone and my cuticles look great. I just washed and applied again this morning. My hands sure do smell good.  :) Pass it on. Let me know if it does or doesn't work for others too please.

Thanks C7, I'll definitely try it out.  The bride's got me on the tea tree oil, but it hasn't helped.

Tea tree oil is anti-viral/fungal.  I guess it would work if your cracking was caused by athletes hand.

Possibly...my hockey gloves are nasty as hell.

As for the "figging"...I don't even want to know.

Common sense stuff I probably don't have to mention but I will. Nails have to be cut short and apply good lotion after every hand washing to seal in the moisture. I've been using Bag Balm. Probably not the best but it's what I've got. I've got so much petroleum in my system I probably smell like an outboard motor.

My father had extremely dry skin and his hands were in and out of water as he was a paper hanger. In winter he would put a whole bunch of hand cream on his hands, more than would rub in and, then put his gloves on.  It used to gross me out, but, as I got older and had bouts of dry skin, I did the same and found it worked real well.
