Government police for private security???

Private clubs and bars are required to hire off-duty police officers for security!

Here in NE Texas, we sometimes see county deputies in uniform standing watch outside this-or-that venue. Those businesses choose to pay time-and-a-half to the county, and the county then assigns an off-duty deputy. But there is nothing that requires those businesses to use deputies. They could hire private security instead, but they choose certified LEOs at a much higher price.

I'm still shaking my head.
