Got Wood? ... Potential Event

Okay.  Winter is over, right?  It's still freakin' cold and wood still costs munnie.

There are tons of wood still left from the ice storm.  My bro-in law works for the state (he's not smart and he's kinda stupid...  and lazy... typical state employee type, but he does share info time to time) and told me there is no problem in picking up wood from along any road as a matter of fact I'm thinking of making this an event.  I have a chainsaw (or two if I get the other one tuned up) a splitter (manual one) a pick up truck and an open trailer I can borrow from the dad guy.

Here is what I'm tinkin':  April 4th, tentatively, anyone who wants wood (yeah some is pine but still lots of birch and stuph) for winter cheapo can join Aubern and I as we gather and take it back to the house in Keene (or wherever) for splitting.  Some of the wood will be too big to move, so chainsaws are the uniform of the day...  well, don't wear them as they are not very comfortable... or so I've heard.

The pine is great for burning outside at Porcfest this summer and will be seasoned enough too.

If there is enough interest maybe we can put it on the calendar here and on FreeKeene.com.

If anyone else wants to suggest things we can do with the wood, maybe to help other chilly people who can't afford it, or open carry event type thing or whatever, please do post.

cool
I was wondering about the wood on the side of the road ... we have so much here that they just leave it laying around :)

Good.   :P

I really thought this would be of more interest to some of us cheapskates by now.

doobie

Here, I thought you were going to make a wooden carving that looks like a certain other piece and do a CD by walking around town with it...

As a tribute to your idea, I just may.   ;)
