Rep. Watrous just pointed this out to me.
Here we have a heavily armed SWAT team, supported by taxpayers money, that is not covered under the Right-to-know law. They take advantage of a loophole: they aren't "government", they're a "private nonprofit" (!!!)

It would be great for someone to post this over on the Underground.

Our Organization

The Central New Hampshire Special Operations Unit is a 5013C nonprofit organization that provides critical incident management services to the law enforcement communities of New Hampshire.

You can also think of us as a coalition of New Hampshire communities, working together to protect and support each other.

As a member of our team, your department gains access to the resources, manpower and expertise of dozens of your neighboring departments.

Your officers receive the best training in the industry, provided by the NTOA. Your citizens benefit from the peace of mind that comes from unwavering confidence in your capability and professionalism.

Membership is a mutual relationship. In return for your officers and support, we offer specialized services that enable you to resolve critical incidents with confidence. As Cdr. Robert Cormier likes to explain it, we take people from our member agencies, equip them with the best training and equipment available, and offer them back to their agencies.
Our Services

A traditional SWAT team's expertise focuses on managing potentially violent situations through teamwork, tactics and, if necessary, force. A Special Operations Unit extends this traditional function to include any incident that requires special training or extensive resources.

Whether you need to serve a dangerous warrant, protect a visiting VIP or search for a missing person, we can help.

Our People

Our team consists of more than 60 individuals including police operators, K-9 units, paramedics and physicians, negotiators, IT, search and rescue, and communcations professionals.

Our team wouldn't exist without the support of our member communities. In fact, each of our operators is an officer from one of our member agencies.

We train your men and women to be capable, confident leaders and highly skilled special operations operators. Each one loves what they do, and their enthusiasm is contagious. Many chiefs have remarked at the positive impact our operators have on the morale in their departments.

Hello media; Perhaps you can tell us more about their "driving sense of purpose"?

"The citizens living in your community will feel safe and confident in the capable hands of their first-rate police force, and the resources and training of the CNHSOU will help your officers maintain peace and security in a safe, professional manner."

Signing off now, have to barf.

I saw a van from this unit parked at the Allenstown Police Department last Saturday. I wondered what it was...

A Special Operations Unit was training at a property next to mine 2 weeks ago in Rumney.  The owner died and the will gave the property to habitat for humanity.  Until they take it over the special operations unit will use it for breaching and tactical "warrant serving".  They were up twice so far using snipers in my woods, setting off various breaching and clearing munitions, and crowding the road with police cruisers from various NH towns.  So much for peace and quiet in the woods.  Their tracks were in the snow on my property and they never even asked if they could enter.  ::)
