I suggest watching the Mythbusters episode about these "plate blockers". None of them worked.

I have the refractive ones if anyone wants to buy or try them.  I also have a "laser plate" if anyone wants to buy or try it.  The laser plate is supposed to cause laser beams to scatter instead of reflecting back to the source.  I'll post photos later.
