"nutball groups"?

"As the economy implodes, the social fabric frays and nutball groups organize for Armageddon, Pam Martens describes the national game-plan of the "Free State Project". "

That is the leading 'bit' in the plug for the subscription-only print edition of CounterPunch.

Did she include Free Staters under that classification?

Does anyone have a copy of this article that they can scan, summarize, post?

John Edward Mercier

I didn't see the original; but it seems so.

Sam A. Robrin

Is there a copy of this that doesn't require a lot of computer knowledge and "License and registration?" - type pop-up windows to look at?  It sounds like something I'd enjoy in that Plan 9 From Outer Space kind of way . . .

Thanks, Seth, for the links to the forum and the CounterPunch pdf, now duly tucked away for future reading. As noted elsewhere, I stumbled across this whole idea by happenstance, and have begun to explore.  I ran into a fellow who gave me a copy of Brian Wright's treatise on the Sacred Non-Aggression Principle, and I've brushed across some other libertarian ideas, articles, et al in the past. So, you're work confirms my suspicions... I agree with the comments about what passes for journalism these days ... it's amazing how uptight people and the powers-that-be can get when some fresh air and enlightenment comes down the road.  Omigawd, Martha, they're gonna take away our mind control and our propaganda.

"Incest and cannibalism"

How inflammatory can you get?

And how on earth does all that frenzied foaming at the keyboard stack up next the revelations about torture, children, 1984-like use of insects in a cage, and the use of state secrecy arguments to hide the rape and pillage of the economy and the Bill of Rights?

slave_3646

I hate the 'nutball groups' that enjoy forcing their views on people with the threat of violence, that steal people's property, that lock people away that haven't hurt anyone else, that lie and routinely don't follow the rules that they claim to exist to enforce. I hate those nutball groups allright.

John Edward Mercier

The reason that collective laws are not absolutes.

But even for the majority, had any collective law been an absolute... or even temporal absolute... the world would be changed within its very fabric.

shyfrog

Another "nutball group" is running with the story now. Tom and the rest of those loose cannons over at the Free Lunch Project have followed up with some profound supporting arguments.

shyfrog

comment from someone on the Sentinel article:

"Another web site set up to harass and intimidate anyone who challenges the Free Staters, www.freelunchproject.com is registered to Shyfrog Media all the way out in Santaquin, Utah. No individual's name is given.

Maybe it's time to get the New Hampshire Attorney General involved. I understand that the folks in Grafton have done just that."

Anyone here know the definition of parody? Please raise your hand.

So now Tim Condon wrote to me this morning:

Greetings, Larry. Hope this finds you and your family doing well. I just wanted
to alert you to the fact that the communists and Democrats have apparently
launched a full-scale smear campaign against the Free State Project and those of
us who have moved to Grafton. They're prominently using your Free Town web sites
to discredit us. (Check it all out at
http://forum.freestateproject.org/index.php?topic=17641.msg210785, and at the
referenced Keene Sentinel article, as well as the two smear pieces published in
the online communist magazine Counterpunch.) I really wish you'd take your Free
Town web sites down, or at least note on them that you're not with the Free
State Project and that the sites are not connected with or approved by the FSP.
Your references to cannibalism and incest and other such stuff, as you know, are
at odds with what the rest of us believe. ---Tim Condon

And this was my reply:

Quote
No, they are not at odds; all libertarians oppose enforcement of laws that
punish such acts between consenting adults, and many FSP Participants are
libertarians. In fact, many FSP Participants - especially at NHUnderGround and
FreeTalkLive - today are saying the very same things to which you have objected
so strenuously (actually you do NOT object to those things, you only object to
their being voiced out loud - as if the shitheads are too dumb to google
Libertarianism).
As I tried to tell you many times, you can't achieve a voting majority in a
State without first achieving a voting majority in one small portion of that
State. And there is nothing immoral about using the Force of the Vote to stop
the Initiation of Force by some old-time residents of a Town against their
neighbors.

Read the explanation by your Dalebert here:
http://freekeene.com/2009/04/20/fine-young-cannibals/#more-1832
He seems to get it: It is a mistake to conflate (1) opposing the punishment of
an activity and (2) advocating or promoting that activity. - - - But then he
does exactly that when referring to me!

We will take over the Town Governments of Grafton and Ellsworth, and as I told
you long ago we will do it even without Converting most of the current
residents.

Respect works both ways, you know. When the shitheads do not respect our right
not to be threatened and incarcerated, we have no obligation to respect their
desire to Initiate Force against their neighbors.
And I regret to inform you that I am going to have to put Merle on The List, for
his participation in a State drug bust in Grafton. He has made his choice to
Initiate Force.

As for stating that the FSP is not associated with this or that site, my
goodness aren't you the ones who after 501(c)(3/4) have insisted that you do NOT
take any stand at all on which views the Participants espouse? Are you guys now
taking a position for and against certain political viewpoints once more?
BALLS? Say it isn't so, Tim.

I love the Free Lunch Project and that woman seems like a great candidate for the movement.

Riddler

so you're telling me, whoever wrote this, is an infiltrator?

".............We also formulate stories to
spoon-feed this blog and twist your little
hillbilly minds into our way of thinking.
Haha, you are puppets. You haven't had
an original complaint or issue that has
not been planted by an FSP representative
since the first week of inception. The
funny thing is, I can tell you this now, and
still be in control of you by the end of the
day. The lights are a little dim in Grafton,
and they will soon go out! There is no
plan to move to Grafton. Do you understand
that s---bags?? Understand, when I
say 's---bags' I'm talking about everyone
in NH, not just Grafton. The plan is to
TAKE OVER, migration is not necessary,
who the f--- would live in Grafton
on purpose anyway? BTW, NH wasn't
chosen because it is the most 'free state';
it was chosen because the people who
occupy it are generally the most ignorant
residents that occupy any state and
they are as defenseless as school girls
when it comes to politics. You are completely
predictable with every action you
take. This blog is all you can do to defend
yourselves against the impending takeover??
That is why Grafton was chosen.
Do you think the same response would
be offered out west???........................"

I hope that is the case.

Will Buchanan is the king of Nut Balls, and he's a freestater, so it must be true  :D
